The company began its humble beginnings back in 1896 selling paper bags to the fruit industry in the London Markets, then over the years evolved into a floristry and packaging supplier, after taking many different trading locations until eventually in 1971 a partnership was formed and established between Dave and Greg Pollard at the original Covent Garden in St Catherine Street. Their trading name being E Pollard & Sons in honour of their late father Edward Pollard. The company rapidly became a great success then in 1974 the company moved their expanding business to new premises in the trading market in Vauxhall, thereafter became the singular and only company to trade in the Flower and Fruit and Vegetable markets.
In 2004 Dave decided to retire and left the business to his brother Greg, who continued to trade the company with his son Steve who joined the business back in 1983, Sadly aged 71 Greg passed away in 2011 having started work at the age of 15 years.
Steve was offered a location in the new interim Flower market, which would not lend itself to the nature of the core business. Steve decided after some deliberation to diversify and transform the company and join the online revolution providing customers with an exclusive experience offering a greater range of products and services.
The Limited company E Pollard & Sons Ltd was formed in 2016 and moved to its current location in Sutton Surrey. Committed to uphold the ethos that been ever present from its early beginnings “You are only as good as your last deal you do.”
